GALL FORCE: finally, peace?
Chapter 3 

Next morning, the four of them lay on the bed on a wild tangle of 
arms, legs and bodies, all softly breathing, content smiles on their faces. 
 
Denise is the first to stir, shifting Cathy's head off her shoulder 
and getting up, as she does this Rachel opens her eyes "What, morning 
all ready?" she yawns, then seeing Denise standing next to the bed
"Oh, good morning Denise". 

Denise wraps a bathrobe around herself and unbolts the door. 
"Morning Rachel, I'm going to brush my hair, I'll be right back".

Lucy starts to stir."Denise" Cathy murmurs sleepily groping with 
one hand to find her lover but instead rubs up against Lucy's body 
and seeks out a breast to lay her hand on.

At this Lucy turns her head to see WHO this is. Rachel leans over to 
gently shake Cathy awake "Come on sleepy head time to face the day". 

Cathy opens her eyes, then seeing the person she's touching, jerks 
her hand back as Lucy laughs "It's okay, Cathy, after a
while you can't tell who's who, especially in the dark".

Lucy grabs Cathys hand and plants a kiss on it as the former android 
blushes.

The ex-attacker sits up and stretches, thinking back on the night, 
and HOW GOOD it felt with her 'sisters', (except for the 
one's on the other side of the locked door, who kept yelling about 
the noise).

Denise returns from the bathroom. seeing that Cathy is awake, 
kisses her, then looks around for her clothes and starts to dress.  

Lucy walks down to the bathroom (rather hurriedly), not 
bothering with a robe. A minute later a LOUD sigh is heard and Rachel 
giggles,then finds her clothes and hands Cathy hers. they start to dress, 
as Eleanor walks in. 

"I hope you all had a good time" the ex-captain leers "It sounded 
like it, with all the moaning    was that Lucy who cried out?". 

Lucy comes back down the hall."Yeah, that was me! it had been too 
long since my last lover and Rabby is VERY good" she winks.

"You had a lover before?" Cathy blinks in wonderment, being unable to 
imagine Lucy with another woman...until last night that is.

Lucy locates her clothes "Yeah, I know,it's hard to believe that I 
would have one but I did, back on Marsus, her name was Mari" she 
pulls her pants up. 

"We had an argument and broke up, it hurt so much that I turned my back 
on the practice but later, at night, I'd find myself missing her touch 
and her voice, it was like hell".

Rachel give Lucy a BIG hug, "Well, between us and Derek, I don't think 
you'll be lonely any more" as she kisses her friend.

Eleanor just stands and watches to scene, looking shocked to find Lucy 
had had a lover then she shakes her head. 

"The others are waiting in the living room, probably to complain about 
last night, Cathy, Catty really wants to see you and there is news from 
the hospital".

Cathy and Lucy exchanged looks "Might as well find out the truth" 
the former muses. 

"You're right. better to know then to worry" the latter looks sad.

Eleanor looks from one to the other "What's THIS all about?".

Rachel tells her. Eleanor frowns, then gazes at Lucy "It's not like 
you PLANNED to remind her of Dawn, these things happen, you know".

Lucy nods "I know, I know but knowing doesn't make it any easier to 
apologize, if need be" she sighs.

Denise chimes in "I'm hungry, lets go the the restaurant and have 
breakfast, ALL of us, the guys too". 

Cathy asks "Is it opened on Sunday?". 

Denise laughs "I've a key to the front door, silly and yes it's open 
on Sunday's". 

With that the group goes down the hall to gather up the others.
After telling the other women that a breakfast out was about to happen, 
Lucy and Rachel went over to the apartment building to get the men, 
so all could go to the restaurant. 

As they get in their cars, Lucy waves at Catty.

When the group arrive at the restaurant, they find that there is an 
all-you-can-eat brunch going on. they then move several tables together 
(after all, there are twenty of them) and proceed to the cashier to 
order the brunch.

Eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, fruit, waffles, biscuits and the like 
are for the taking, with milk, orange juice, water, coffee and tea
(hot and iced).

After taking what they each want and returning to the tables, the 
conversation turns to the events of yesterday and last night, the 
women sitting next to the male of their choice, except for Denise, who
sits between Cathy and Catty.

Lucy leans over to Derek and whispers "Remember how Catty was crying 
yesterday?, I THINK that we might be to blame for that".

Derek looks at her in shock "What?, she said that it was nothing" he 
then gazes at Catty.

Lucy relates her chat with Cathy after they got back from shopping. 
Derek pales "God, you're probably right, she must have been watching" 
he comments as he takes her hand in his under the table and squeezes it. 

Meanwhile Eleanor is chatting with Oskar, telling him about the day before 
"You mean Derek and    " the israeli blinks "It's about time, 
I'm surprised that they waited THIS long".

Rachel asks "Eleanor, what's the news from the hospital?". 

Eleanor coughs "About Mal, her arm isn't broken and the 
other bullet missed the major blood vessels, she just needs to be 
sewed up and then a month of rest, however, the Doctors say she will 
probably scar badly on her chest and she MAY be sensitive about the 
damage BUT Shelly's leg has been pinned back together and she MIGHT be 
out of her cast in 2 months instead of 3 but she'll need a wheelchair 
till then, and need rehab after she gets the cast off" Akira adds "I 
proposed to Shelly the first time I was there". 

At this there much happy muttering at the table. "Can we visit them?,
do we need to prepare rooms here for them (and so on and so forth, 
okay so I'm cheap).

Rachel smiled, happy for Shelly and Akira, then her thoughts turn to 
Catty, how to make her at ease and find her a mate who MIGHT be an equal 
to Dawn in her eyes, then she remembers the card that Derek has 
"Do you have that card the guard gave you?".

Derek nods and goes through his wallet till he finds it and hands it 
to Rachel "What are you gonna do, Rachel?". 

Rachel stands and looks around "I'm going to make a phone call".

Lucy gasps "You're gonna call      , are you sure that's a good idea?".

"Better then sitting on our hands" says Rachel "Besides he might be 
free right now, Chet and I could go get him". 

Chet nods to the idea. Rachel spots a public phone and walks over to it, 
putting the change in and dialing the number. after several rings there 
is an answer. 

"Mr. Schafhirt, my name is Rachel, I'm a friend of the woman you saw 
crying yesterday at the Micmac Mall. I was wondering if you had to 
work today" Rachel begins.

"No,I've got the next two days off" Matt responds "I'd like to see 
her again, but I don't know where she lives".

"That's okay" Rachel tells him "I could come pick you up if you want 
or you could drive down to Lunenburg".

"Lunenburg?, that's closer to where I live then Dartmouth, I could be 
there in, say, twenty minutes or so".

"Oh good" Rachel beams "actually we're in the Dalhousie Grill and Pub 
in Halifax having brunch. I'll wait here with Derek and the woman he 
was with, okay?".

"Okay,I could be there in twenty if traffic on the one-oh-three isn't 
too bad. Its a date then, see you soon". 

He hangs up. Rachel puts the handset back and walks over to Eleanor 
and tells her what's going on "Are you sure that's a good idea?" 
the ex-captain looks concerned "We know nothing about this man".

"That's not true" Rachel muses "We know he cares. besides, someone will 
be nearby just in case".

Eleanor agrees to this and Rachel goes to talk to Cathy and Lucy
"Cathy, I just got off the phone with the man who was worried about 
Catty yesterday and he's coming here to meet her again. Do you think 
you and Denise could keep an eye on the two of them so nothing bad 
happens?".

Cathy looks a bit shocked but nods. Rachel smiles, then 
turns to Lucy "You wanna keep me company while I wait for Matt to arrive?". 

"Where and when?" the ex-attacker wonders.

Rachel tells her, then she and Derek stand to go with Rachel as one. 
by this time everyone knows SOMETHINGS up and they're looking at Rachel 
for answers.

"Could everybody wait here please. Lucy, Derek and I have a chore to 
do and then we'll be back" Rachel explains "We wont be gone long" 
Rachel explains as Chet sits back down, seeing that Derek is going.



While waiting outside for Mr. Schafhirt, Rachel asks Lucy "Did he seem a 
nice type when you meet him?". 

Lucy answered "Yeah, I thought he was okay, I mean he didn't HAVE to 
stop and make sure Catty was all right". 

Derek agrees with this belief, Adding "I know him a little, 
he studies television arts and Japanese at Dalhousie in night 
school. he and Akira talk about anime and manga from time to time". 
(^_^) 

"But isn't that his job?, making sure that no one's in trouble?"
Rachel commented. 

Lucy said "Yes, but I think he stopped because he is 
gentle man, he might also have suffered a loss in the past, 
something like what Catty is going through right now, so he 
just MIGHT know how she feels and what to say to her".

"Something we wouldn't know about, except for Patty" Rachel 
responded, sadly thinking of the sacrifice Patty had made 
in helping Rachel destroy the surface of Chaos.

Five minutes later a van pulls up next to the Pub and a large bearded 
man with glasses turns off the engine, then exits, to stand looking at 
the group. 

Lucy knows him right away. "Hello again" nodding to Matt, who can 
only stare at Rachel.

She starts to feel a little nervous, having a stranger stare at 
her, then he blinks and shakes his head "Sorry, you reminded me 
of someone I used to know".

Lucy sees that Rachel is leery of Matt "Why don't you come inside, 
then you can meet everyone".

Matt nods, then follows the others back inside.
                        
As they enter the main room of the restaurant, they find the others 
waiting, still nibbling their food. 

Catty smiles a little at Rachel, then at Matt, as he moves to sit 
down by her, then nodding to Akira, "Konnichi-wa, Takada-Sama".

Eleanor tells him "Thank you for looking out for Catty the other day,
I believe that you know the students here but as to the rest, well, 
we were thrown together by fate, if you will".

Matt looks at the woman next to him, then at one who SEEMS to be 
her twin sister, but somehow younger, and then all the other women seated 
at the table, most seem well matched with the students, except for one
who looks like she's sitting next to her older brother, then notes that 
Akira, Len and Jack are without female partners. 


Lucy can "see" the gears turning in his head, as he looks 
around the table "fate brought them together?, that's NOT the whole 
story, there's something else going on here".

She comments to Eleanor (in solnoid) "He knows there's more to the 
story then just that, El, should he be told the truth now or later?".

Eleanor looks at Catty and she nods back, agreeing that Matt should 
know, sooner rather then later, then adds (in english) "But how to 
prove it?".

Matt looks on, a little unnerved at the fact that the women are 
talking about him in the third person(and in another language to 
boot),then decided that he might as well wait and see what happens 
next.

Cathy comments "If we can get Catty Caraway here, she will be all 
the proof we need to convince him of the truth", at this Matt frowns
and looks worried.

Akira says "Daijobu, Matt-kun, you aren't in any danger, 
it's just that, they want to be SURE that you have an open mind 
before telling you their secret".

"Secret? you mean the women are some sort of special group?, of what?
police? soldiers?" he starts to stammer, then noticing the sad looks 
on the women's faces, he stops and begins to wonder if he is in over 
his head in something better left alone.

Eleanor sees that Matt is worried and turns to Cathy "why 
don't you, Denise and Catty take Matt off to another table and 
tell him what's going on?" picking the least threatening of the people 
at the table for the job.

Akira adds "I'll go too, he knows me and it can't hurt".

The small group gets up and, carrying their drinks, move to a table off 
in a corner, but in plain sight of the others.

Cathy starts the conversation "What you about to hear will sound 
incredible, but it's ALL true and we CAN prove it. Akira-san, why 
don't you start".

Akira nods "Matt, remember 2 months back, when the rumors 
about the women who appeared at our apartments started?, well these 
are the women and weird as it sounds, they DID appear from outer 
space".

Matt replies "Oh, come on Akira, have you been watching too much 
'Tenchi Muyo', these things just DON'T happen!!".

Cathy snickers, after all, it IS one of Akira's favorite shows, 
"No, I can assure you that what he says is the truth, ask Denise, 
I really shocked her when she found out".

Denise nods and relates all that Cathy had told her on that strange 
night, and all she had seen since then.

Matt just says "Okay, so where's the camera, whose idea was this?" 
as he looks around for anything odd in the room.

Catty sighs "I didn't think he'd believe it without proof, 
shall we take him to the hanger or Starleaf computer services first?".

The others exchange looks and Denise says "Lets go to the hanger, it 
might be safer that way".

Akira gets up and walks back over to the other group to tell them 
that proof is needed and they think that the hanger is the safer of 
the two choice's.

All agree on this and stand to leave, Rachel waving the smaller group
to join them, as they pay the bill and walk to their own cars.

twenty minutes later, after arriving back at the apartments, the women 
lead Matt over to the hanger and let him inside, while Lucy stands 
guard outside.

Inside the building, Matt can see some rather LARGE shapes at the 
other end of the area and when Eleanor turns on the lights, he can 
see four twenty foot tall human shaped robots at that end of the building.

He blinks "Well, those are impressive but, so what,do they work?, 
can I try one?". and looks at the women.
"Just cause you have some sci-fi props doesn't mean anything".

Rachel snorts and goes upstairs as Sarah walks over to a 
machine that looks like a speeder bike from "Star Wars" and fires
it up "And how many of THESE have you seen that work?".

Matt has to concede the point, after all, the bikes in the movie 
were just props and HE knew it.

Sarah shuts off the bike, then, with a wicked smile on her face,
turns to what appears to be a tank and climbs in.

In a few seconds the tank starts to float 10 or 12 inches above the 
floor of the hanger and Sarah sticks her head out "you wanna go for 
a ride, my friend?".

Just then Rachel comes back downstairs wearing a jump suit and goes over 
to one of the large robots then. she touches a point on the left knee,
and then stands back as the robot kneels and the upper part of the torso 
lifts up, she then climbs into the opening and the top closes again.

The robot stands back up and Matt hears Rachel "Do you STILL think 
it's a prop?" as the robot moves closer "Amy, would you mind?" Amy raises 
her arms, the robot then takes hold of her by the waist and lifts her 
CAREFULLY off her feet.
