GALL FORCE: finally, peace?
Chapter 1

Three days after destroying the Solnoid equipment storage site, 
in French Polynesia, the group of thirteen women and ten men 
decided it was time to go home. They had to fly the heavy equipment 
back to Nova Scotia, except for the front rover and the 
breeze II, which were being flown back on a CAF C-130 with Amy, 
Denise and Darlene aboard. 

Now they had to wait till dark to approach Lunenburg, lest they attract 
attention to them selves and Mrs Ross. When they finally got the 
equipment they had stored back in the hanger, it was 9:30 and they 
were all tired. The women went upstairs to their rooms and the men 
trudged over to the apartment building

As the guys walked to the building, they noticed a light in the 
living room and Derek moaned "Oh no, did we forget to tell Mrs 
Ross that we were even LEAVING?".  

When they entered the living room they found that MRS. Ross had 
just left a lamp on, probably for them, they turn it off and 
proceeded up to their rooms for the night.

In the morning, when they came downstairs for breakfast, MRS. Ross was 
waiting for them along with two Police officers and a sergeant of the 
RCMP. 

The Sergeant asked, "Where have you men been? the University reported 
that you all vanished without warning". The students looked at each 
other in shock. "Furthermore, Lunenburg Secondary Vocational School 
is missing two students, would you happen to know where they are?". 

Mrs Ross adds, nervously, "The Park Service called five times, asking 
about Patty, Rachel and Sarah". 

Derek slowly nodded "We really are sorry about all this but we, 
uh, had to go help the U.N. with a little problem, If you call this 
woman, she should be able to verify my story". With that, he gave 
the Sergeant the phone number for Catty Nebulart's U.N. office. 

Mrs Ross and the officers looked shocked and one of the other 
officers states "We'll check into this but in the meantime, we'll 
need to detain you, pending our findings of course.  Now, do you 
know where the women are?".

The students exchanged quick glances and nodded. Chet said "Yes, we 
know where they are, however I think it would be best if one of us to 
talk to them also, I think I can promise you that they'll make no 
attempt to resist".

Oskar added "You might also want to call for a bus to transport us 
all, there are Nineteen or twenty of us", not sure if Born would be
included.

The officers agreed and followed the men back outside. 
The Sergeant said "I don't remember this being here before" as he 
gazed at the hanger. (Being that the apartments were on a semi-private 
dirt road, this was not too surprising.)

Chet and one of the officers enter the hanger and stood in a room 
where there were several chairs, a table, a couch and a entertainment 
center. Chet moved to the spiral staircase and called out "hey, 
Rachel, are you up yet?". 

Amys face appeared as she asked "Who is it?, Oh hi Chet, lemme 
get Rachel", she disappeared and the men heard voices overhead. 

Rachel comes downstairs, in a bathrobe, "Chet?, is there 
something wrong?", then sees the RCMP officer "Oh dear, I guess 
there is". 

The officer starts to explain the problems and complications for the 
whole group. "Wait, wait, why don't you let me go back upstairs and 
call everyone together so you won't have to repeat yourself" Rachel 
begged as Chet looked alarmed, "It's okay Chet, I don't think there 
will be a problem".

Rachel returned to the second floor, calling everyone together and 
explaining that a man will be here in a moment to talk about a problem 
that had come up. 

"But it's early, I'm hungry, can they come back this afternoon?" 
Sarah asked "And should Born be here?".

"Thats true, he IS new to the planet, it might be better if he hid 
up here, for now anyway" states Cathy, and tells him to use her 
room to hide in.

Rachel said "I really think we should listen to what he has to say". 
The women all nodded, Rachel then went back downstairs, to led Derek and 
the Officer to the living room, upstairs. The officer was surprised to 
see TEN women looking at him, in various stages of dressing, then 
told them why he was here and what he needed to do. 

The women glanced at each other and Eleanor offered "I think we 
should go with the officers". 

Cathy piped up "If Derek gave the sergeant my mother's number and 
they call her, We'll be out in no time, no questions asked".

The Corporal looked a little shocked that the women MIGHT resist,
and remembered that there were only 3 officers present and ten women,
who didn't look like the type to have their lives run for them.

Rachel asked him if they could get dressed before leaving,
he agreed, the women went to their rooms and the men went back 
downstairs.

He and Chet sat to wait for the ladies to return, then he noticed 
two items next to the couch, one at each end, they looked like large
remote control toys, about 2 feet tall and as he looked at one of them, 
he had the strange feeling that it was LOOKING back at him, 

when the women returned, He led them back to the apartments, where 
the Sergeant and the others are waiting. "Well you were right, son,
we will need a large vehicle". 

The Sergeant called for a bus on his radio, then they all moved inside 
to wait. Mrs Ross had made coffee and laid out some toast and eggs. 
"I expect that you all could use something to eat" she said, then 
caught sight of Cathy and Catty standing next to each other, then 
realizing she's staring, she shakes her head and turns away.

There are thanks all around as the group take coffee cups and 
food, Then find places to sit. Most of the women choosing to sit 
close to the male they were most comfortable with, except for Cathy 
and Catty, who sit next to each other.

The hum of conversation from the men was about forgetting to tell 
someone they would be gone. If they had the trouble they were 
currently in might just have been avoided.

Rachel was wondering what was the matter "But what did we do 
wrong?, I mean, okay so we all disappeared for a few days. Is that 
a crime on Earth?". 

Chet replied "Well, Amy and Miti ARE underage, no one told the 
school that they'd be absent at all and  the same goes for us. 
People are just worried, thats all. After the police call Catty 
Nebulart, everything should be okay".

Eleanor commented "Really, it's all right, we are as much to blame 
as you, running off to fight a battle that would never have been 
needed if 'our' sisters had laid the war to rest" Then, 
thinking of something more, she quickly writes out a short note.

Derek was apologizing to Lucy for messing up so badly "I mean 
going off without telling any one, that's really stupid". 

Lucy puts her arms around him, whispered in his ear "Charging 
into battle before thinking is MY job, I'll have you know", then 
kissed him.

Fifteen minutes later, the bus arrived and the officers guided 
the group aboard, as Mrs Ross looked on in shock. Eleanor turned 
to her, bowed and said "We are truly sorry to bring this trouble 
to your home. When we return, you will have all the help you 
need" as she hands Mrs Ross a note.

Mrs Ross watched the bus pull away, worried about all of them, 
standing in the morning light. she then goes up on the porch to 
read the note.

          Dear Mrs Ross

             "There is a man hiding, upstairs, in the hanger.
he is in Cathy's room, his name is Born. he looks like Patty, 
however he is new to the planet, as we once were, please take 
care of him until our return".

Mrs Ross gasped, then ran over to the hanger to find him, when 
she does he is looking over Cathys small Library and jumps when he 
hears her enter the room, not sure if he needs to defend himself but
her first statement proves that she is a friend.

"Well, Born, I have eleven aliens living here, I might as well make it 
twelve, do you need anything to eat right now?". 

Born looked at the older woman in shock "you mean that you know the 
Solnoids weren't birthed on this planet?". she looked puzzled for a 
moment then brightened  "oh, you mean born here, on earth?, yes, I know 
that".

Mrs Ross takes Born's arm and leads him back to the apartments "I'll 
tell you all I know about what has happened since they got here, 
while we eat breakfast, okay?".

Later, in their cells, separated by gender, the groups waited. 

In the womens cell there was: Lucy Atkinson, Eleanor Rubenstein, 
Patty Scudder, Rachel Ludwig, Sarah Smith, "Miti" Anderson, 
Shelly Trimble, Mary Ann Louis (or MAL, as she liked to be called), 
Cathy Rice and Catty.

Catty made use of the time by apologizing to Eleanor, Rachel and Patty about 
not helping as much as she should have, when the 'contact point' was aboard
the first StarLeaf.

Eleanor nods "I know it wasn't what you wanted to do, it was the 
programming that you had received about monitoring the contact points", 
as she puts an arm around Cattys shoulders. 

Rachel adds "and when I confronted you on the bridge, you denied being a 
Paranoid, but then ran, which only made me SURE that you were lying, and 
was the damage OX-11 report real, or was it just to get us off the ship?'.

"I suspect that it was a false report, though WHY the catapult circuitry
had been sabotaged, I don't know" Catty states. 

In the next cell there was, Derek Slater, Philip Chatterly, Akira Takada, 
Leonard Porter, Maurice Foch, Oskar Bernstein, Dave Holland, Steve Calhoun 
and Jack Rice.

The Sergeant gives his report to the Captain "And you believe them?".

"Well, Sir, I did check that number they gave us and it IS a direct 
line to the U.N. office of a Catty Nebulart" 

"I see, well let me have the number, I'll contact Ms Nebulart myself"
the Captain said, the Sergeant read it off for him, then left the office. 

Alone the officer dialed the number and waited for an answer.

"Ah, hello, this is Captain Stammel of the RCMP in Nova Scotia 
calling, am I talking to Catty Nebulart? it is?, well, can I talk to her 
please?. a pause, then, "Ms Nebulart, this is Captain Stammel, RCMP, 
Nova Scotia, I have have in my Jail a group of Nineteen people, who 
claim that they have been on a mission for the U.N." 

"You do?, well, let me look" he picked up a paper from the pile on his 
desk "Yes, yes those are the names, so you CAN confirm that these 
people DID do a job for the U.N.?. Yes, I can see where that might lead 
but I did need to check out their story, thank you very much for your 
time, goodbye". 

He puts the handset back down. He sat for a moment, shook his head and
called out "SERGEANT!!!!!" 

The officer re-entered the office "Yes, sir?".

The Captain said "Please release the people that were taken into custody 
and offer them a lift back home, right away".

The Sergeant saluted, and left to follow his orders, stopping to 
retrieve the personal belongings to give them back.

Lucy and Miti hear the door to the holding area opening and alert the 
others in time to hear the Sergeant, as he unlocks the cell 
doors, "You are all free to go. if you wish, a ride will be provided 
back to the apartment building and here are your belongings". 

They decide to take the offer of a ride and thank the Sergeant

After returning to the apartment building the group seeks out Mrs 
Ross and asks her if everything is all right. "Yes, everything is fine, 
Born fell asleep on the couch, I think he's still there"

Patty looked worried at the news then nods. Catty comments 
"I need to go to New York to talk with Mother" (by this she meant 
Catty Nebulart) "Cathy, will you come with me?, I have an idea on 
how to repair all our sisters but I would like your help, please?"

Cathy nods to her older sister and writes a note to Denise, 
explaining where she has gone and why, asking Denise to please join 
them in New York when she returns and gets settled.


TWO WEEKS LATER

Shelly answered the phone, "Hello, StarLeaf Computer Services,
this is Shelly, can I         Cathy?, where have you been?. 
Len returned two weeks ago, WHAT?? you are?. But how   I mean the 
earth science of bio-technology can't do that yet, can it?. 
He did?, all of them?, well, it's a good thing I'm sitting down" 
she said, as she laughed and then asked "So what happened to your 
android body?, it is?, but why?. Oh really?, so there is now a 
council to  govern the foundation?, how do your sisters feel about it?".

As she talked to Cathy, Shelly typed an e-mail to

attacker@cancom.ca:
subj: Cathys back!!!

"Cathy is on the phone with me right now, she says that she is now 
human, that Dawn brought a gestation chamber down before his Ship 
blew and that she, her mother and Catty number 3534 (the one 
that was at the base in French Polynesia) used it to make all the
'Cattys' human and the Captain has stepped down as the chair of the 
Chaos foundation, turning the running over to Catty and her sisters. 
Cathy says she'll be home today, she wants Mal and I to pick her and 
Denise up at the airport, she has a surprise for us all and she says 
that Catty-3534, the new Catty, will be coming to live with us ".

She sends the message, then returns to the phone call and said 
"I hope you don't mind, Cathy, but I just sent a message to the 
others via e-mail. We've all been worried that you weren't going 
to come back. Yes, the C-130 got back okay but you should know that,
Denise DID find you, right? WHAT? you did! well, congrats, I'm sure 
that the two of you will be very happy, yes it's all back at the hanger" 

She paused to listen for a minute, then said "Oh, she will?, well 
you tell her that she's welcome here anytime she wants to come!. 
Oh, we have been talking about returning some of the equipment to 
the Blossom or digging a large basement for storage so the Central 
Guard will have a harder time finding us and Rachel plans to dive on 
the pod soon". Shelly told Cathy "Oh okay, you arrive in two hours?, 
we'll meet you there, bye-bye".

Shelly hung up the phone, then called out. "Mal, lock the front door, 
will you?, we have to go pick up Cathy and Denise at the airport in 
90 minutes and I'm hungry, we'll eat first, then go get her". 

After lunch at the Knot Pub, on Dufferin St., the two women drove 
to the Halifax International airport, arriving 30 minutes before 
Cathy's plane was due. Shelly took the time to fill Mal in on 
what Cathy had said. 

"But, HOW?   oh never mind. If the Paranoid can change themselves 
into human form, I guess an android, that is already in that form, 
is much easier" Mal commented.

Shelly nodded "Cathy also told me that her old body is now wandering 
the World as a free-lance journalist, under the name Catty Ray 
Caraway. and if we ever see her, to render all help needed, if we 
can AND she said that she and Denise are going to be married".

The two sat in the receiving area and waited for the P.A. to announce 
that the flight from New York had arrived. 

As they waited, they fail to see a woman staring at them with hate in 
her eyes.

The call for the flights arrival comes and the women stand and move 
toward the gate where the passengers will deplane. As they pass a set 
of vending machines, shots ring out, from behind them.

They are both hit but not fatally, Shelly catches two rounds in her 
right leg and Mal gets one round in her left arm and another in the 
area of her left shoulder blade.

As she lay on the ground, Shelly looked in the direction of the 
shooting and saw a woman with a hand gun, empty her pistol at a man, 
who it looked like he had just been knocked down. 

Shelly heard the woman scream "STINKING TERRAN, WHERE'S YOUR BRAVERY 
NOW?" and realized that she must be one of the Central Guard, and 
the man had seen the gun, grabbing it as she fired, accounting for 
the non-fatal wounds.

There is screaming, the woman ejects the magazine and slides another 
into the pistol, then, more shots but this time the assailant 
is the one to get hit, as the airport police take action but all 
Shelly and Mal can do is wait for emergency aid to arrive as 
officers make them as comfortable as possible and covering the 
bodies of the dead.

Mal has passed out, Police officers, having checked for her pulse 
and not finding it, have started CPR. After two minutes they have a 
weak pulse and she's breathing on her own, but she's still unconscious,
one officer has taken off his belt and has wrapped it around Shellys leg
as a tourniquet  

Shelly asks an officer to please call Mrs Ross's apartment building 
and tell the people there what happened, she gives the phone number 
and their names, Then she gave a description of Cathy and Denise to 
the officer, asking that they also be told what happened and which 
hospital to go to later, if no one arrives before the plane does. 

Medical aid arrives and they get the two up on stretchers on 
Electric carts, bandage the wounds as best they can and take 
the women to a waiting ambulance. 

As the police check the dead women for I.D., they find that she 
had been wearing a wig, and is bald under it, with a tattoo on 
her forehead.

In the apartments living room, Lucy gets up to answer the phone "Hello?" 
she said "Yes this is the right num.....    WHAT?!?! WHEN!?!" a pause,
while Lucys shoulders slump, then, "OK, I see, there will be 
someone there in about an hour, thank you very much". 

She hangs up the phone and turns to look at the others, her face 
grim and her voice hollow "Shelly and Mal have been shot, they're 
okay but on the way to Halifax General. They were at the airport to 
pick up Cathy and Denise, the police said the woman who shot them 
was bald with a tattoo, she's dead".

Eleanor stated "Oh Mother, they've found us again" her eyes bright 
with tears. 

Sarah and Amy look especially shaken by this, after all, Shelly has 
been a very good friend to them and Akira looks especially stunned 
at the news. 

Lucy then says "I'm going to the airport to look at this woman and 
pick up Catty and Denise, any body want to tag along?" and at that 
Derek nods. 

"I'll come too, I might be able to identify her" Eleanor replied, then, 
sourly "Not that it will matter much now".

Rachel and Patty looked at each other and nodded, then Rachel adds 
"Lucy, Patty and I will go straight to the Hospital. Someone needs 
to stay here and guard the equipment and the others". 

Chet, Derek, Steve, Oskar and Jack all volunteer to stay help 
protect the buildings and then Sarah states "Amy and I will go with 
Rachel. Miti, will you please stay here on guard duty?".

Miti nods, looking very sad "Should I pass out small arms, 
I mean, if the Guard can hit us at the airport, doing it here will 
be easier, there are less people".

Eleanor, Rachel and Lucy glance at each other and Lucy tells Miti "Get 
Chet, Derek, Oskar and yourself in Bronzs, have Steve and Jack do 
recon with the Blowguns and stand guard until we either call, or one 
of us returns. Get everyone in the hanger, if they do attack, you can 
use the weapons to defend yourselves".

Eleanor added "You DO know the Captains phone number in New York, 
right?" Miti nodded and then went out to the hanger to prep the Bronzs. 

Rachel stopped for a moment "We'd better wait for Akira and Len, I'm 
sure they'll want to come", as Eleanor and Lucy head outside to use 
Eleanors BMW.

On the way to the airport Lucy, who is driving, asks "Well, 
what do we do now?, it's obvious the Guard has found us and they 
wont stop till we're all dead". 

Eleanor can only shake her head "That's something for ALL of us to 
determine but first we need to see just how bad Shildy and Mal are, 
did you get any info over the phone?". 

"Yeah, a little, the wounds apparently aren't fatal, Shildy got hit in 
the right leg twice and Mal took one to the body and one to her left arm" 
Lucy replied "The police also said a man was killed by the shooter, 
apparently because he interfered".

Eleanor closed her eyes, muttering, "Mother, they really are all 
crazy".

Lucy snorted "No, really?, I always did think shaving your head was a 
REAL bad idea". 

The rest of the trip is made in silence, both women worrying about 
their friends, and thinking what might be done to safeguard them all 
against possible attacks in the future.

Rachel, Patty, Sarah ride their harleys, following Amy, Akira and Len 
to Halifax General, to see just how bad their friends really were 
(though, in Akira's case, she was about to become MORE then just a 
friend). 

After they arrive at the Hospital and determine where the two women are, 
they wait outside the Emergency room until a Doctor can see them

As they are waiting, a RCMP Sergeant walks up "Well, hello again, 
I'm sorry about the other day, orders, the Captain wanted 
the matter solved ASAP. Now, I don't suppose you are here for a 
medical check-up?". 

Patty looked at him and almost draw back a fist to hit him 
but turned away instead. Sarah then said "No, we're not, two of 
our friends were just shot out at the airport and we came to make 
sure they're okay. Although after being shot   ".

The Sergeant nods "I know how it feels, my old partner was shot a 
few times. I had to sit here a lot, it's not much fun".

[Just then a Doctor came out of the E.R., wearing a long 
multi-colored scarf around his neck and a long coat with a brown hat. 
he went over to the bank of phone booths and, entering one, closed 
the door. the phone booth then vanished with a roaring sound]

Two minutes later another Doctor (an M.D. this time) entered the 
hall and asked the Sergeant if he knew if there were any relatives or 
friends of the two gunshot victims about, the Sergeant replied "I believe 
that these people will fit the bill, sir" indicating the small group 
beside him. 

The Doctor turned towards them and asked "Have you any idea just WHY 
the two women where shot?". Rachel replied "No, I'm sorry, we don't 
know but can you tell us how they are doing?". 

The Doctor answered "Well, the taller of them is in the best shape, 
she only needs to have the bullets removed, I think, but we need to 
check the x-rays, the other one, I'm afraid, will require surgery 
to remove the bullet from her left shoulder, It's pretty close to her 
heart, the arm is not bad but the body wound, it's just too early to 
know just yet, by the way, are they sisters??".

"No they're not, at least, I don't think they are" Sarah replied, then 
turned her attention to Amy "There's nothing to do but wait, you know 
that". 

Akira asks "Is it possible to see the woman with the leg wounds 
yet?", then added "I was going to propose to her today". 

The Doctor looked at Akira, then at the sergeant "Well, I don't 
see any problem but you'll only have a few minutes, we need to get 
the bullets out ASAP" and he opened the door to the E.R., following 
Akira in. 

Inside the room Akira looked at Shellys form as tears welled in 
his eyes, only seeing the bandages, the blood and the I.V.s, then he 
reaches out and took her hand as he kneeled by the bed "Shelly?, how 
do you feel?". 

He heard a soft, pain-filled, reply "A   Akira? who else is 
here? how's Mal?".

Akira placed a hand on her forehead "Rachel, Patty, Amy, Sarah and Len
are outside. Mal's in bad shape; she needs surgery". then added "But 
that's not way I'm really here, I need to ask you something". 

Shelly turned her head slowly towards him and opens her eyes
"What is it Akira?". 

He whispered "will you marry me, Shildy?".

Shelly answered "Yes, I will, Akira", then squeezed his hand hard 
as she closed her eyes and moaned. 

"Is it bad?". 

"Better now that my friends are here" she smiled painfully.

A minute later, a gurney carrying Mal exited the E.R. and went down 
the hall to the elevators with Rachel, Patty and Len following. 

They asked the nurse if there was a way to monitor their friends 
progress while she was in the Operating Room, the nurse told them to 
get in the elevator, when they got to the right floor, the nurse said 
"Four doors down, on the right side, there's a waiting room" as she 
pointed to the left.

When the two entered the waiting room, they saw that there was a 
phone on a small table, Rachel picked up the handset and called the 
apartments.

"Hello?, oh, Mrs Ross, is Miti free to come to the phone? oh, I see, 
well can you tell the others, if they call, that Mal's in surgery right 
now and Shildy needs to have two bullets removed from her right leg,
yes, I'm worried about them too, thank you Mrs Ross, good-bye". 

As she put the handset back on the cradle she notices Patty crying softly
as Len comforts her as best he can.

She walked over to Patty and puts her arm around her "Nothing we do or 
don't do will matter right now, you know". Patty looked up Rachels face, 
seeing that she too was crying, then all both sat and waited for word. 

Back downstairs Akira is asked to leave the room so that Shelly can be 
moved to another O.R., to have the bullets removed and the injures tended 
to, being that the x-rays showed that her right femur had been shattered
by the bullets. 

Sarah, Amy and Akira get the same treatment as Rachel and Patty did 
and they sit close together for company, knowing that all they can do 
is wait.

Out at the Airport, Lucy was having trouble in getting a chance to view
the body of the attacker, finally, she pulls her Canadian Coast Guard 
card from her purse.

"Look" Lucy said, as she opened her wallet to show her I.D., "They're 
my friends, you already know that she shot them, then you guys shot 
her, all I want to do is look and see if I might be able to figure 
out why she did so".

The RCMP corporal looked nervous "I'm just not sure that I 
can let you see the body, it's not very pretty right now". 
Lucy snorted "It can't be any worse then pulling a body from the sea, 
I see that all the time. please?". 

The Corporal sees a Captain approaching and asked Lucy to wait a 
moment, so he can check with his superiors.

After a brief talk with the corporal, the Captain walked over to Lucy 
and Eleanor "You really want to look at the body?" the two 
women nod "All Right, please come with me". 

He led them to a office, inside, the officer walked to a table and  
unzipped one of the body bags down to the waist.

Eleanor turned a little green and gasped. the womans body had been 
blown open with four rather large holes, covering most of the torso 
and letting all see far more then they wanted to. Eleanor turned away, 
managing to keep her composure other then a slight green tint to her 
face. the Captain apologized and covered the body back to the neck. 

Lucy had been looking closely at the womans face, trying to remember if 
she had seen her before or not, then gave up "Thank you very much, 
I don't know who she was, I might have seen her at the company where 
the two women work, I'm just not sure".

The Captain replied "That's quite all right, you did try to help in this 
matter, I think this will just have to be called a random act of violence".
as they leave the room.

Eleanor spoke up "They were to meet a incoming flight, do you know if 
that plane has landed yet?".

"Yes, it did, about   " the Captain looked at his watch "   Five 
minutes ago, if you wish I can take you to the gate where the 
passengers will disembark."

Lucy said "Thank you, now we have to break this news to some friends, 
who the two victims were to meet".

The Captain looked concerned "Are they likely to be very upset by 
this news?, I can have a nurse stand by, just in case".

"No, it should be all right, if you could make a private space so we 
can talk to the people, it will help" Eleanor said. 

"That can be easily arranged, I've had to have a few chats on the 
subject myself". As he said this, Lucy could see in his eyes that he 
HAD done that and the cost had been very high. 

Eleanor and Lucy followed the officer to the gate as the plane was 
just pulling up, he moved a rope line aside and told them "This area 
is not being used right now, but, you will only have about half an hour 
before another plane arrives".

Eleanor thanks the officer, he nods, leaving them to an unwelcome task. 
"Eluza, do you want to me do the talking?" Lucy asks as she keeps an 
eye out for Cathy or Denise. "No, Lufy, this is part of the reason I 
became a Ships Captain; to tell people things that they don't really 
want to hear".

Just then Cathy and Denise burst out of the crowd, Lucy waved, and had 
started to move towards them, but Eleanors hand held her back 
"Eluza?, what?". 

Eleanor just pointed. Lucy looked in the direction that Eleanor wanted 
her to and saw a woman staring at Cathy with what might be madness in 
her eyes.

"Oh shit" Lucy breathed, then shook off Eleanors hand and ran towards 
Cathy "The Central Guard, Cathy!!, Look out!!!" she barked in Solnoid, 
as she reached into her pack.

Cathy stopped in shock, hearing Lucy, then grabbed Denise and  
dropped to the floor as Lucy pulled a pistol from her fanny pack 
and pointed it towards the woman.

As Eleanor watched in horror, thinking that another friend might fall 
to the Guard, Lucy pulled the trigger once.

A small, round hole appeared in the front of the others head as she fell 
without a sound but Lucy wasn't taking any chances, keeping her 
gun trained on the body.

As the events sank in with the people all around them, Cathy and 
Denise stand and move towards Eleanor quickly as the airport 
police appear. 

Seeing this, Lucy hits the magazine release, letting it fall to the floor, 
then racked the slide to eject the round, laying the pistol down 
and stepping back, keeping her hands in sight at all times. 

A Sergeant walked up to Lucy, asked her to turn around and lower her arms, 
as she did this the officer placed her in hand cuffs, "It's only until we 
determine just WHAT happened here, and why" as she protested.

Eleanor gets Cathy and Denise settled, then walked over to the dead 
woman and sees a machine pistol next to the body, resembling an UZI 
(having seen pictures from Oskars training in the IDF). "Sergeant" 
she called out. "look at this please" 

He walked over "At what?". 

She pointed and he looked, then gasped upon seeing the weapon and that this 
woman was also bald. "Well" he said "It seems that the 'cuffs aren't 
needed" as he walked back to Lucy and removed them.

Lucy thanked the officer, then approached the body. crouching down, 
she examined the woman face "Nope, don't know this one either" she 
said, noticing a wig a few feet from the body.

After staring for a moment the Sergeant said "Another bald woman??, 
must be a new trend in terror". 

Just then the Captain come onto the scene "I thought you 
were just meeting people, not playing detective".

Eleanor said "That WAS the plan but others had different plans 
to carry out. If it's okay with you, can we leave?". 

The Captain nods "Yes, you can leave, it's plain that you two are NOT
the criminals in this shooting but we need a phone number where you 
can be contacted, if need be".

Eleanor gives the officer the number for the apartments as Lucy 
recovers her pistol and returns it to her pack.

The two walk back over to their friends. noting that Denise looked a 
little sick, Eleanor asks, "Will you be all right?".

Denise nods, not trusting her voice just then. Lucy said "We 
really need to leave now, we can talk in the car" as she held up a 
hand to stall Cathy from speaking. 

Denise gazed at her lover. "I just want to get out of here, okay?". 

Cathy nodded, thinking that if Shelly and Mal weren't here and that 
this is the bald second woman to die here, today, waiting should provide 
answers.

After the baggage is collected, the group walks out to the BMW, 
Lucy keeping a sharp eye out for anyone who might be watching them 
TOO closely. 

After getting in the car, Cathy and Denise in the back, Lufy and 
Eleanor up front and driving away from the airport, Cathy breaks down 
"OK, whats happened?, where are Shildy and Mal?". 

Eleanor half turned in her seat, looking Cathy in the eyes "One of the 
Guard shot them about an hour ago, they should both live but other then 
that we don't know".

Cathy can only stare at Eleanor, then covers her face with her hands 
and wails. 

Denise slide over and puts an arm around Cathys shoulders and strokes 
her hair. 

Eleanor went on "Shildy got shot twice in the right leg and Mal got 
one in her left arm and one to her body, about six inches below her 
left shoulder and needed prompt surgery to remove the bullets. 
Shildy also will need surgery but she is not as bad as Mal is". 

Cathy was openly sobbing "Why?, why now?, I told her on the phone 
that I'm now human. she sounded very happy! she shouldn't be in the 
hospital".

Lucy turned her head at this "What? you're human?? but...how? 
why??".

Cathy relates how Dawn had a gestation chamber aboard his Ship and 
that was how the paranoid had changed themselves into humans, adding 
"Catty 3534, the one from the first StarLeaf, had the idea to use the 
chamber to convert the androids to human so they could live again". 

Eleanor stated "So, your now mortal? you can now grow old and    oh, 
I think I see why you wanted to do this, Cathy" as she watched Denise 
comforting her.
